Endurance Insurance looks to London for international expansion

According to Graham Evans, CEO of international insurance at Endurance Insurance, the recent creation of a London-based professional indemnity team is indicative of the company’s international insurance growth strategy for 2014.

Evans says: “this presence in London, the largest insurance market in the world, provides unparalleled access to customers and will become our focal point for international expansion in the insurance sector.”

The professional indemnity team, led by Ian Bowler with Robert Goldhawk and Ben Carter as senior underwriters, is the first stage in building a comprehensive professional lines group in London according to Evans. Further teams underwriting commercial D&O and financial institution business are set to follow in the short term. Later in 2014 Endurance will add energy and property underwriting capabilites.The insurer will also consider a number of other specialty products.

Evans says: "these new staff will complement Endurance's professional lines business in the US and Bermuda, enabling us to reach a broader customer base with these products."
