Hiscox appoints AIG executive Matthew Budd head of technical claims

Global specialist insurer Hiscox has hired senior AIG executive Matthew Budd to lead its technical claims function.

Budd has been named to the newly created role of group head of technical claims. 

Based in London, Budd will oversee Hiscox’s technical claims operations, reporting to group claims director Steve Parry, as the firm pursues growth and innovative solutions.

He joins from AIG, where he led the group’s aerospace claims, bringing 36 years’ experience across multiple lines, including senior roles at Talbot Underwriting and XL London Market.

Parry said: “Matthew will be a great addition to our team, thanks to his vast global experience and deep expertise in claims – including complex and high-value claims across various lines of business. He joins us at an exciting moment as we focus on realising our ambitious growth plans, and I look forward to working with him to continue to develop our market-leading claims service.”
