Hamilton CUO Jamie Secor to join WR Berkley, spearhead E&S launch

WR Berkley has named Hamilton Insurance Group chief underwriting officer Jamie Secor (pictured) as president, tasking her with launching a new excess and surplus (E&S) lines business under the Berkley brand.

Secor joins the company after four years at Hamilton, where she most recently served as chief underwriting officer of Hamilton Select, having previously been senior vice president of specialty lines and manager of professional and management liability.

Before Hamilton, she spent 11 years in senior underwriting roles at Kinsale, with earlier stints at CapSpecialty, James River, Virginia Farm Bureau, and State Farm.

Announcing her appointment, Secor said: “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as president at WR Berkley Corporation! I’ll be launching a new E&S company under the Berkley banner with more details coming soon.”
