Crypto insurer targets international growth

Crypto insurance company Evertas has appointed the former chief of staff of blockchain asset manager Pantera Capital as its chief operating officer.

The Bermuda-regulated company, which classes itself as the world’s first crypto insurer, said Emma Rose Bienvenu has been tasked with helping the company to expand internationally and to introduce new products.

Bienvenu spent two years as chief of staff at Pantera, "working closely with the CIO and CEO to grow the firm and its team".

For the last year she has been an advisor to Flashbots, an Ethereum infrastructure provider.

"She brings with her a wealth of experience and expertise in firm operations, regulatory compliance and crypto strategy, in addition to an extensive network within the tech and blockchain ecosystem<" Evertas said.

“We are excited to have Emma Rose joining the Evertas team. Her experience helping to build Pantera into the powerhouse it is today will help scale Evertas into its next phase of growth,” said Evertas chief executive officer J. Gdanski. “Emma’s combination of crypto experience, strategic thinking, and operational excellence make her the perfect fit for Evertas as we continue to grow our position as the leading insurance and risk management company for the crypto space.”

Evertas said Bienvenu will leverage her network to expand the company’s customer base and partnerships, contributing to Evertas scaling both internationally and across a wider product suite.

"Her presence will bolster the team’s cryptonative expertise, ensuring processes and procedures are transparent, efficient and compliant," the company said.

Bienvenu said: “I am delighted to be joining such a vibrant team at such a critical juncture in its growth. Crypto has the potential to transform how value is created, transacted, and stored; for it to deliver on that promise, crypto users and businesses need tools that allow them to take sensible, calculated business risks. Evertas is building those tools, and I can’t wait to help enable the continued success in its mission.”

Evertas is the first crypto insurance company backed by Lloyd’s of London. It said its commitment to providing highly rated policies covering crypto mining operations, crypto custodians, crypto exchanges, investment funds, family offices, and more, is driven by a desire to codify global crypto industry standards.
