Vantage group taps ex-James River executive James Gunson

Bermuda-based Vantage Group Holdings has appointed James Gunson (pictured) as chief claims officer for its insurance business.

He will lead claims strategy, leveraging Vantage’s data, technology, and analytics while driving cross-functional coordination to support brokers and clients, reporting to insurance CEO Alex Blanco.

Gunson joins from James River, where he was senior vice president and chief claims officer, following similar roles at CNA and eight years in claims at Chubb North America.

“Jim’s strategic mindset and team-oriented approach make him an invaluable addition to our team,” said Blanco. “His depth of technical claims and legal expertise, combined with his understanding of insurance operations, finance, and analytics, will be instrumental in advancing our claims strategy.
