Peter Stubbings (pictured) has been appointed CEO of reinsurance of Miller, while Gary Masters will become chairman of reinsurance.
Stubbings joined Miller in May as chairman of Miller Bermuda, helping to build Miller’s Bermuda reinsurance and retrocession proposition. Previously, he held senior reinsurance roles across London, Bermuda, the Caribbean and the Nordics.
The new structure marks the next phase of Miller’s ambition to build a global, specialism-led reinsurance business, the broker said. Its focus will include integrating the acquisitions of Miller Bruzon, AHJ Miller and Shields Miller, which have expanded its presence across the Nordics, Caribbean, North America and the MENA region.
James Hands, CEO of Miller, said: “We have built real momentum in reinsurance, with significant progress in our teams, capabilities and international footprint. Peter’s appointment as CEO of reinsurance, alongside Gary’s transition to chairman, gives us a strong leadership partnership for this next chapter.
“Peter brings exceptional market experience, technical depth and client relationships and I am also delighted that we will continue to benefit from Gary’s experience and strategic insight as chairman, having made a significant contribution to the development and growth of Miller’s reinsurance business since joining Miller through the AHJ acquisition.”
