Vantage names Lisa Pickard strategy head to head new facultative reinsurance business

Specialty re/insurer Vantage Group Holdings has entered the facultative reinsurance market, appointing a former Arch Re executive Lisa Pickard to lead.

Pickard (pictured) joins as president of facultative reinsurance and will report directly to Vantage CEO Greg Hendrick. Pickard will build the facultative team, establish its underwriting approach and develop broker and client relationships.

Pickard brings decades of senior underwriting and operational leadership experience in property facultative reinsurance. She began her career at Gen Re before joining Arch Re Facultative, where she led underwriting teams, shaped portfolio strategy and developed underwriting teams. She later became Arch Re’s first chief strategy officer, serving on its executive leadership committee and driving growth and corporate strategy.

Most recently, she founded Atlas Gray, an advisory firm focused on underwriting strategy, portfolio construction, operating models and leadership development.

“Lisa brings rare depth as both an underwriting leader and strategist,”  said Marc Grandisson, executive chairman of Vantage. “Her track record of building high-calibre teams and scaling disciplined portfolios reflects the exact rigour we need as we establish our facultative line and drive Vantage’s next phase of growth.”

“Vantage has built a dynamic business that delivers tailored, data-driven solutions to clients,” said Pickard. “I look forward to assembling a world-class team and partnering closely with our client community to provide disciplined, tailored facultative solutions that respond directly to complex risk environments while advancing Vantage’s commitment to excellence and innovation.”
