The Fidelis Partnership strengthens Pine Walk bench with Peter Williams and Gary McInally
The Fidelis Partnership has bolstered Pine Walk’s leadership team with Peter Williams and Gary McInally as the platform scales to support 18 MGAs and $1.6 billion in written premium, sharpening its focus on underwriting oversight, governance and continued growth.
Williams (pictured left) has joined Pine Walk from Scor as chief underwriting officer, bringing extensive specialty insurance underwriting and leadership experience. He will oversee underwriting across the Pine Walk platform and support cross-selling with the wider Fidelis Partnership.
McInally (pictured right) has been appointed chief executive officer of Pine Walk Capital, subject to regulatory approval, and managing director of Pine Walk. He will be responsible for the platform’s operations and governance, having previously served as chief project actuary at The Fidelis Partnership, where he worked on the development of both the group and Pine Walk.
The appointments come as Pine Walk continues to grow and deepen its integration with The Fidelis Partnership.
Richard Coulson, group president – strategic relationships at The Fidelis Partnership, said: “Peter is a highly respected underwriting leader with an excellent track record of building and developing specialty portfolios. His appointment further strengthens Pine Walk’s underwriting proposition and supports our ambition to continue growing the platform while deepening collaboration across The Fidelis Partnership. Gary’s appointment as Managing Director reflects the increased size and sophistication of the platform. We look forward to Pine Walk’s next phase of growth under their leadership.”
Williams added: “Pine Walk has built a distinctive proposition in the market by combining entrepreneurial underwriting with the infrastructure, governance and support needed to help teams succeed. The platform’s growth demonstrates the strength of that model and the quality of the businesses it attracts. I am excited to join Pine Walk at such an important stage in its development and look forward to working with Gary and the wider team to support the next phase of growth.”
McInally said: “Pine Walk has a well-earned reputation for being the home of entrepreneurial underwriting teams. Our model is unique and collaborative, and this is reflected in the impressive growth over the past year. As we continue to deepen our integration with The Fidelis Partnership, we have an opportunity to further strengthen our governance, underwriting capabilities and support for our underwriting partners. I am excited to continue to champion the platform and lead it through the next stage of its development in this new role.”
