Bermuda-based re/insurer SiriusPoint has appointed EY veteran James Anderson (pictured) as global chief pricing actuary.
Based in London, Anderson will report to Group Chief Underwriting Officer Anthony Shapella and Chief Actuary Justin Brenden. He will lead the global actuarial pricing team, focusing on developing a best-in-class pricing framework, providing business insights, and enhancing portfolio analytics. Additionally, he will work closely with IT to implement a standardized pricing infrastructure across the company.
The veteran actuary, set to start on May 12, brings over 20 years of experience to the role. He joins SiriusPoint from EY, where he spent nearly three years as a partner, advising London Market companies on pricing and portfolio management strategies.
Prior to EY, Anderson was at Allianz for almost 12 years, most recently as deputy chief pricing actuary. He also spent time at Brit Insurance and Swiss Re.
Shapella said: “James has a proven track record of building and leading actuarial teams, and specialty lines expertise on a global scale, and we are extremely pleased to welcome him to the team.
“We remain focused on hiring the best talent in the industry and believe James’ leadership will be pivotal in enabling SiriusPoint to develop best-in-class pricing and sustainable financial outcomes for our clients.”
Last month, Helen Cahill joined SiriusPoint as head of international pricing and business planning. She came from Apollo where she was head of pricing. Cahill leads the international pricing team and will report to Anderson.
