XL Catlin exec joins Argo

Bermuda-based Argo has hired an XL Catlin executive as global head of professional lines.

Steve McGill, formerly XL Catlin’s global product leader specifically for D&O and financial institutions business, joins the company in the newly created role.

He will lead Argo’s professional lines business globally, leveraging the collective expertise and capacity across Argo’s entities in the US, London, Bermuda, Europe, Brazil and the Middle East to grow the business profitably.

McGill has also held the position of chief underwriting officer Europe and Asia-Pacific with XL Capital.
