Sompo poaches AXA XL exec to drive diversity efforts

Sompo International Holdings, the Bermuda-based specialty property and casualty (P&C) re/insurer, has poached Allison Fingerhuth from AXA XL as vice president of global inclusive diversity and marketing and communications for international insurance.

Fingerhuth spent over 12 years at AXA XL, most recently as global director of business group strategy, communications and marketing, and a member of the global P&C extended leadership team.

In her new role she works alongside Cara Gallagher, senior vice president of marketing and communications, as part of a global team dedicated to delivering integrated branding, marketing and communications programmes. She also works with Isla Baillie, executive vice president of human resources, to promote Sompo’s global inclusive diversity efforts. She is based in Zurich, Switzerland.

Brian Goshen, chief administrative officer at Sompo International, said: “Continuing to build and enhance the awareness of our brand, and sharing our compelling story, are keys to achieving our goal of becoming a top 10 global insurance and reinsurance organisation.”

Julian James, chief executive officer of international insurance at Sompo International, highlighted Fingerhuth’s “passion for diversity and inclusion” which he said will provide “valuable insight and leadership as we continue to build an organisation where anyone can contribute and belong.”
