Sompo Holdings turns to cyber market

Sompo Holdings, which owns Bermuda-based Sompo International Holdings, has said it is planning to enter the cyber security business at the start of 2018.

The company is setting up new business units to strengthen its functions and recently established the Sompo Digital Lab in Israel, following Tokyo and Silicon Valley in California as a base for collecting information and seeking new partners.

In December a new cyber security headquarters will be launched in Sompo Risk Management & Healthcare - the risk management company of Sompo Holdings - which will be branded as Sompo Risk Care, of which Yasushi Fuse serves as president and CEO.

Sompo Holdings is also planning to expand its business within the Greater Tokyo Area, and is considering expanding nationwide.

In a statement, Sompo said it will continue to expand alliances with domestic and overseas businesses including those with advanced technologies.
