The Fidelis Partnership names Greg Bowman CEO Bermuda
The Fidelis Partnership (TFP) has named Greg Bowman (pictured left) as CEO Bermuda to lead as it continues to expand its operations on the island.
Bowman will join the group executive committee while retaining his role as group head of ceded reinsurance. He joined TFP in 2023 and relocated to Bermuda in June.
In addition, Mark Herget (pictured right) has been appointed CUO Insurance Bermuda, deputy group head of property and head of property binders, with responsibility for leading the growth strategy for the property binders business. He joined TFP in 2020 and was previously deputy group head of D&F property, energy and construction.
And Danny Mereu (pictured centre) will become deputy CUO Bermuda, overseeing TFP’s Bermuda analytics, including portfolio performance. He joined the partnership in 2023 and was previously group head of property underwriting analytics and pricing.
The appointments follow further senior hires, promotions and Pine Walk launches in Bermuda. These include Helen Wilson’s appointment as CUO reinsurance Bermuda, starting in January, and Sarah Ching’s appointment as senior underwriter, international property. TFP has also established Mezura Capital Partners, a capital solutions managing general agent led by Shireen Gammoh, and Adroit Underwriting, a US small and medium-sized enterprise casualty reinsurance MGA led by Jeff Markowski.
John Paul O’Hare, group director of underwriting, commented: “These appointments further enhance our Bermuda leadership, cementing the significant investment we have made in talent and capability over the last 18 months. The strength and experience of our senior team on the Island, as well as the depth of our technical underwriting, analytics and actuarial capabilities, is truly impressive. Alongside the launch of our two Pine Walk cells, Mezura and Adroit, we have created a powerful growth engine in Bermuda.”
Bowman added: “Our expansion in Bermuda embodies TFP’s culture, moving at pace but underpinned by some of the best people and technology in the market. It’s exciting to see the talent we are attracting, including Helen as our new Reinsurance CUO, but crucially this is complemented by TFP’s ability to develop and promote internal talent. I look forward to working closely with John-Paul and the Executive Committee to continue the momentum we have in Bermuda.”
Herget said: “We have a strong and diversified portfolio in Bermuda, and I’m looking forward to building on that momentum, working with our teams to continue developing business. We have also identified Property Binders as an area of significant opportunity for TFP, and I look forward to ensuring we maintain our momentum in this space.”
The appointments are subject to regulatory and immigration approvals.
