Q-Re announces finalised management team

Q-Re announced its new management team, led by CEO Gunther Saacke and put together in order to “build Q-Re into a global multi-line reinsurer with a focus on specialty lines”. Members of the team will be located in Doha, Zurich, London and Bermuda.

In addition to Mr. Saacke, the management team will include Willi Schuerch as chief underwriting officer, Mark Cockroft as chief actuary and Peter Frei as head of underwriting risk. Luke Roden, previously at XL, will serve as underwriting manager for North America and manage Q-Re’s Bermuda office.

Saacke commented: “by appointing the chief underwriting officer, the chief risk officer, the chief actuary and the line of business and regional executives, we have successfully put in place the core team which will be instrumental in establishing Q-Re as a truly global reinsurance franchise based on superior technical expertise.
