O’Donnell to take the helm at RenaissanceRe

Neil Currie is stepping down as CEO of RenaissanceRe and will be replaced by Kevin O’Donnell from July. Currie will remain at the company in an advisory role until February of next year.

Commenting on his appointment, O’Donnell said that he was excited at the prospect of leading the “best team in the business”. Reflecting on Currie’s legacy, O’Donnell said: “Neill’s passion for building a strong company culture and delivering superior customer service have become hallmarks of RenaissanceRe. We will ensure that this legacy continues.”

O’Donnell’s ascension ties in with the company’s 20th anniversary this year, with Currie’s time at the helm having seen the reinsurer go from strength to strength.
