New global cargo leader at XL Catlin
XL Catlin’s insurance operations have appointed Andrew Coutts as global practice leader for cargo.
Coutts will be responsible for managing a global underwriting team as well as XL’s cargo insurance portfolios. He will be based in London.
“In this transitioning market, it is essential that we continue to build upon the high standards and consistent level of service our clients have come to expect from us,” said Robert McAdams, XL Catlin’s chief underwriting officer for Global Marine. “I am delighted to bring Andrew on board; his strong leadership and understanding of the market is exactly what we need to steer strategy for our Cargo team globally.
Coutts joins XL Catlin from Brit Global Specialty, where he worked for nearly 10 years as cargo underwriter. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the marine cargo insurance industry and has held several positions within industry trade bodies, including the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI) and the International Underwriting Association (IUA).
