Ironshore launches M&A unit in America; hires AWAC execs

Bermuda-based Ironshore International has magnified its presence in the Americas with the expansion of its mergers and acquisitions (M&A) unit into the region.

Ironshore said its team’s presence in North America is aimed at addressing complex, multi-jurisdictional transactions within the North and Latin American regions.

Narvine Aggarwal will lead the team, serving as senior vice president, head of M&A of the Americas, and will report to Rowan Bamford, global head of M&A and tax insurance. He will be based in New York.

Further appointments have been named for the M&A team throughout its network of offices in New York, Atlanta and Toronto.

Aggarwal’s practice area will be augmented in New York by Patrick Ryan, vice president, and Aartie Manansingh, assistant vice president.

Additionally, Elizabeth Cunnane, vice president, and Andrew Stewart, vice president, will operate from the Atlanta and Toronto offices, respectively.

Regional underwriting specialists from Ironshore join directly from Allied World Assurance Company (AWAC), where each served in various leadership positions within the M&A sector of the insurance industry.

Aggarwal most recently served as vice president of M&A with AWAC, responsible for launching and establishing its North American practice group.

Bamford commented: “Ironshore International is broadening its vision to build a truly integrated global M&A practice with experienced, specialty underwriters dedicated to the Americas region.

“Under Navine’s leadership, we now have in place a strong team of professionals, serving domestic markets that are complementary to our established global practice.”
