IGI unveils UK marine trades insurance product

International General Insurance Holdings has launched a new marine trades insurance product.

IGI writes a portfolio of global marine risks through its UK subsidiary, which together represented around 7 percent of its gross written premiums at December 31, 2019. The marine trades product covers the smaller recreational marine market across the UK and complements its existing ports and terminals and marine liability portfolios.

The team is led by Mark Trevitt, who has 30 years of marine underwriting experience as class underwriter for ports and terminals and marine liability. IGI recently also hired Vickie Fox as a marine underwriter, to develop the marine trades business.

Trevitt said the product is aimed at a large and growing client base across the UK. “Given our size and experience, we are able to customise coverage to suit our clients’ needs, while also offering the ability to source multiple related coverages in one place,” he said.
