Hamilton Select adds former Hiscox and Travelers executive

Bermuda-based Hamilton Insurance Group has built up its US excess and surplus lines insurer with the addition of a veteran specialty underwriter.

Daniel Tague (pictured) has been appointed as as senior vice president, excess casualty at Hamilton Select where he will be tasked with building the line, which was launched less than two years ago.

Based in Richmond, Virginia, Tague reports to Diane Wisner, senior vice president, casualty lines who has oversight over all Hamilton Select Casualty Lines: Excess Casualty, General Casualty, Products & Contractors, Small Business Casualty, and Energy.

“I’m pleased to welcome Daniel to the Hamilton team,” said Anita Kuchma,  chief executive officer of Hamilton Select. “His experience and market knowledge are impressive, and he has hit the ground running as we continue the momentum maintained since launching Hamilton Select’s excess casualty line in December 2021.”

Tague was most recently SVP, underwriting, for N2G Worldwide Insurance Services. He was previously with Hiscox, Travelers and Berkley Specialty.

Hamilton Select’s Excess Casualty line offers excess capacity for a wide variety of hard-to-place and distressed risks, including construction, manufacturing, habitational and hospitality.
