Hamilton Re unveils management changes

Hamilton Re has announced a number of changes in its underwriting function that it said were designed to support its development as a new kind of Tier 1 company.

Tim Duffin has been promoted from chief underwriting officer, property to the newly-created position of chief underwriting officer, reinsurance. Secondly Claude Lefebvre has been promoted to chief underwriting officer, partnerships & casualty reinsurance. And finally Susan Steinhoff, senior vice president, property, has been promoted to senior vice president, head of property reinsurance.

“I'm delighted to announce these management developments at Hamilton Re,” said Hamilton Re CEO Kathleen Reardon. “The new leadership structure is streamlined and efficient, enabling us to focus on strategic and execution imperatives as we define what it means to be a Tier 1 company in today's market. It also plays to the significant expertise and experience on the Hamilton Re underwriting team and provides growth opportunities for up and coming talent in our company.

“I congratulate Tim, Claude and Susan on the role they've each played in establishing Hamilton Re as a nimble, client-focused and innovative company. I look forward to working with them and the rest of our employees as we continue to establish a leading presence in a rapidly evolving market."

According to Hamilton Re, Duffin will oversee the strategic growth and development of Hamilton Re's reinsurance portfolio. He also assumes management oversight for the organisation's property, casualty and specialty reinsurance lines of business.

Lefebvre will oversee the development and management of Hamilton Re's relationships with AIG and Attune, the technology-enabled platform established by Hamilton, AIG and Two Sigma.
