Former Brighthouse COO Carlson joins White Mountains board

Bermuda-based White Mountains Insurance Group has appointed Peter Carlson to its board as a director.

Carlson previously served as chief operating officer of  annuities and life insurance provider Brighthouse Financial, based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Prior to that, he was executive vice president and chief accounting officer of MetLife.

In March 2017, MetLife separated its US retail business. The separated business now operates as an independent company Brighthouse Financial.

Carlson has also served on the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council.
