Everest Re Group CEO to retire in 2019

Dominic Addesso, the president and CEO of Everest Re Group, is set to retire at the end of 2019.

Everest Re Group's board of directors announced his retirement on January 8, and is now undertaking a search as part of its succession planning process.

The Bermuda re/insurer plans to review both internal and external candidates for the position effective in 2020.

“Dom has done a great job of growing Everest and positioning us for the future," said Joseph Taranto, chairman of the board. "We are thankful for his continued leadership.”

Addessso has served as CEO of Everest Re Group since 2014, and as its president since 2011. He also serves as chairman, president and CEO of Everest Reinsurance Holdings. He first jointed Everest Re in 2009.

Prior to Everest, Addesso has held senior roles at Munich Re America, Selective Insurance Group and KPMG.
