Endurance hires former AIG president for CEO role

Endurance Specialty Holdings, a Bermuda-based property/casualty re/insurer, has appointed Christopher Sparro as executive vice president and chief executive officer of US Insurance, effective September 12.

Based in New York and reporting Jack Kuhn, CEO of global insurance, Sparro will be responsible for developing Endurance’s US product portfolio, which offers professional, casualty, property and specialty covers.

Sparro has more than 25 year of experience, having most recently served as president of financial lines for the Americas region at AIG.

He joined AIG in 1990 and has since held several senior positions.

Kuhn commented, “Chris has demonstrated his ability to build a profitable and diverse business at AIG, spanning a range of property, casualty and specialty product offerings and serving clients from small businesses to multi-nationals through a range of distribution channels.

“He will be a valued addition to our insurance leadership team and a great fit with Endurance’s underwriting culture as we continue to build on the successful results achieved by our U.S. franchise over the last few years.”
