Endurance appoints new VP, launches new specialty lines coverage

Endurance has announced that Clifford Easton will join the company as executive vice president and global head of energy insurance.

He will be responsible for launching a new specialty insurance line covering both onshore and offshore energy.

Easton has more than 30 years experience in the marine and energy markets focused on multi-national oil, gas, electricity and chemical clients.

He will be based in Endurance’s London office, supported by two energy underwriters, senior vice president Tom Houston and assistant vice president, Alex Murray.

Easton will report to Graham Evans, CEO of international insurance.

Evans comments, “With Cliff’s recognized expertise and extensive client and broker relationships in the global energy insurance arena, I am confident that Cliff and his team will quickly establish Endurance’s presence in this market. The launch of this new business line for Endurance is an exciting milestone as we continue to build out our international specialty insurance operation.”

Easton joins Endurance from Axis Capital where he was executive vice president and onshore energy manager responsible for their global energy portfolio. Prior to that, he was a founding partner of Hiscox Syndicates and served as their marine and energy division head.
