BILTIR brings in behavioural expert for conference keynote.
The Bermuda International Long Term Insurers and Reinsurers (BILTIR) will host Harvard behavioural scientist Francesca Gino as its annual conference’s keynote speaker next week.
Bermuda Minister of Finance Curtis Dickinson will open the virtual event on September 23. Panel discussions will cover a range of tropics, including the lessons learned from Covid, the macroeconomic outlook, and capital, sidecars, securitisation and asset-intensive life reinsurance companies in Bermuda.
RGAX, the innovation accelerator of life reinsurance group RGA, is also hosting a session on managing disruption through structured innovation.
Gino is a Harvard Business School professor and expert on the psychology of organisations. She is the author of Rebel Talent: Why it Pays to Break the Rules in Work and Life, which lauds rebels as “masters of innovation and reinvention” who enable businesses to evolve and prosper.
“BILTIR’s annual conference has gone from strength to strength due to the global interest in Bermuda’s innovative and growing life and annuities sector,” said conference organiser and chief underwriting officer of Somerset Re, Scott Selkirk.
“We are delighted to have attracted such a high calibre line-up of speakers and panellists for an event which will offer some fascinating insights into issues currently faced by the global life reinsurance industry,” added the BILTIR board member.
Those wanting to attend must register online for the event.
