New vice chair and board member for BILTIR

The Bermuda International Long Term Insurers and Reinsurers (BILTIR) industry association has confirmed board member Natasha Scotland Courcy as its new Vice-Chair, while appointing Andrew Sooboodoo as a new board member.

The appointments were confirmed at BILTIR’s annual 2021 Bermuda International Life and Annuity Conference, held as a virtual event yesterday.

Scotland Courcy is senior vice-president, general counsel and chief operating officer of Bermuda-based fixed annuity reinsurance company Athene Life Re and has been a BILTIR Board member since 2020.  Sooboodoo is chief risk officer at Fortitude Re and currently leads BILTIR’s Interest Rate Working Group.

“These two appointments further strengthen BILTIR’s board of directors. I have had the pleasure of working with both Natasha and Andrew for the past several years and can attest to the high calibre of their expertise, work ethic and integrity,” said BILTIR chair and Wilton Re Bermuda CEO Sylvia Oliveira.

“I look forward to our continued collaboration in support of BILTIR and its members.”

Last week, North End Re became the 63rd member of BILTIR, which represents the island’s long-term insurance, reinsurance and servicing companies providing life and annuity products.
