Aspen appoints president and CUO of insurance

Bermuda-based Aspen Insurance has appointed David Cohen as president and chief underwriting officer (CUO) of its insurance segment, Aspen Insurance.

Cohen joins Aspen from Liberty International Underwriters where he was president, US and global casualty chief underwriting officer. He will be a member of Aspen’s group executive team and report to Mario Vitale, chief executive officer of Aspen’s insurance segment.

Cohen will work with Vitale to further develop and implement the overall business strategy of Aspen Insurance and help to grow the business. He will also oversee segment business plans and pricing models, support business development activity and act as a referral authority for underwriting risks.
