Artex CEO wins lifetime achievement award
Kathleen Faires, CEO of Artex Capital Solutions, has been awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by Women In Reinsurance (WiRe).
The professional organisation for women working in Bermuda’s reinsurance sector announced the award at its inaugural Women’s Day Gala, attended by 200 industry representatives. The gala was developed to mark WiRe’s 15th Anniversary as well as highlight the contribution of women in Bermuda’s reinsurance sector. The keynote was delivered by Bermudian author of Begin Boldly, Christie Hunter Arscott.
Faires’ career stretches over more than 35 years. Early on, she worked in captive development at Marsh Management and business development for start-up brokerage Crump International. She then drove growth through product innovation and third-party capital solutions at Tokyo Marine Millenium Re AG. She eventually became CEO of Tokyo Marine Solutions and later head of the Bermuda Branch at Tokyo Millenium Re AG.
Faries has also served as an advisor to several start-up organisations and won multiple industry awards. She was a founding member and chairperson of ILS Bermuda, host of the ILS conference Convergence, and served on the board of WiRe from 2011 to 2017. In 2018, she cofounded WeSpeak Bermuda, an organisation that trains women to enhance leadership abilities through public speaking of all forms.
