Argo Seguros taps Swiss Re Mexico and Central America CEO

Argo Seguros, the Brazilian re/insurance underwriter and member of Bermuda-based Argo Group, has appointed Newton Queiroz as CEO.

The appointment is effective May 1, and Queiroz will report to Jorge Cazar, head of Latin America at Argo Group.

Quieroz has almost 20 years of experience in the insurance sector, and most recently served as CEO of Mexico and Central America at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. He joined Swiss Re in 2012 as chief commercial officer of Latin America. He has been attributed to developing the sales strategy and culture for Swiss Re in the region.

Prior to Swiss Re, Quieroz was a director at Aon, specialising in aviation, oil and gas.
