Argo seeks growth in US through Lloyd's agreement

ArgoGlobal, the Lloyd's syndicate and subsidiary of Argo Group, plans to expand the company's footprint in North America through an agreement with Waypoint Underwriting Management that has now received approval from Lloyd's.

Waypoint Underwriting Management, a specialty reinsurance platform operating primarily in the US, will underwrite accident and health (A&H) products on behalf of ArgoGlobal (Syndicate 1200) at Lloyd's.

“We are excited to work with Waypoint to expand ArgoGlobal’s access to A&H expertise in the US," said Adam Zawia, A&H class underwriter at ArgoGlobal. "Waypoint has a proven track record in delivering profitable business, and the underwriter will complement Argo’s high-quality team in London.”

ArgoGlobal specialises in writing worldwide A&H, as well as property, marine, energy, specialty and non-US liability insurance.

Joe Horan, Waypoint managing partner, added: "This is great news for us and our clients, as it gives us added capacity and capabilities in our target markets. Becoming an approved coverholder at Lloyd’s also reflects the high quality of our team."
