Arch Re promotes exec to president and CEO

Bermuda-based Arch Capital Group has named Jerome Halgan as the new president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Arch Reinsurance Company.

Halgan, who has been promoted to the position, takes over the role from Tim Olson, who will continue to serve as the company’s chairman.

In his new role, Halgan will assume responsibility for the overall management of Arch Re from its headquarters in Morristown, New Jersey.

“We are thrilled that due to the reinsurance group’s considerable bench-strength, we were able to promote from within Arch,” said Nicolas Papadopoulo, CEO, reinsurance group, Arch Capital.

“I am confident that Jerome is the right choice to lead Arch Reinsurance Company in this challenging market. At the same time, we are fortunate that Tim has agreed to remain with Arch to provide strategic and leadership support.

“Tim is known throughout the industry and will continue to be a huge asset to the company moving forward.”
