MultiStrat appoints Weston Tompkins to lead US capital advisory arm

MultiStrat has appointed Weston Tompkins (pictured) as executive director for capital markets to drive investor relations, capital raising, and growth strategy.

He will lead MultiStrat Advisors, its US-based capital advisory arm focused on sourcing investor capital for MultiStrat’s reinsurance deals. He will oversee investor relationships, capital raising, analytics and strategy to support the firm’s growth.

Tompkins will report to CEO Bob Forness and support the executive team in driving new investment opportunities and long-term growth.

With more than 30 years in institutional investment, Tompkins joins MultiStrat from Tribe Capital Management, where he was senior vice president, investor relations. He previously held senior investor relations roles at Securis Investment Partners, Towers Watson Investment Services, and Hewitt Investment Group.

“We are excited to welcome Weston to our team as we continue to seek out opportunities for investment and growth,” said Forness. “His extensive industry experience in US institutional investment consultancy, management, sales, and client services roles will make him an invaluable addition to our organisation.

“As we continue on our progress towards achieving our growth ambitions as a group, it is crucial to build out the expertise across both our underwriting and advisory functions in order to guide MultiStrat into the future. Weston’s appointment underscores our dedication to this strategy.”.

Tompkins said: “MultiStrat has a proven track record as a pioneer in the casualty ILS asset class, and I am thrilled to join the company at such an important time in its growth trajectory. I am looking forward to working with the experienced professionals in MultiStrat’s capital advisory team to capitalise on current growth opportunities in order to ensure the long-term success of the company.”

Tompkins’ appointment follows the firm’s February appointment of Maryam Abdullah as head of pricing.
