Ex-Hamilton executives launch ILS specialist
Two veteran Hamilton Insurance executives and well known insurance lawyer Peter Dunlop have teamed up to form Radix ILS, which will act as a multi-line reinsurance partner to third party capital.
Radix said on LinkedIn that it had raised its first venture funding from Arbor Ventures, launched and received its first reinsurance submissions.
The chief executive officer is Hanni Ali (pictured), formerly group head of ILS and sustainability at Hamilton while former Hamilton software engineer Dave Berton is principal technology engineer. Former Walkers partner Peter Dunlop is chief claims officer and general counsel.
“(Radix ILS) gives me the opportunity to apply my combined mathematics and technology expertise to the reinsurance market, solve the hard problems the reinsurance market can address and manage my own capital and that of our capital partners in an optimal manner,” Ali said of the company.
According to its website, it will offer property reinsurance, specialty reinsurance, ILW and parametric, property retrocession, property risk reinsurance and facultative catastrophe reinsurance.
The company aims to put a heavy emphasis on technology, its website said, adding: “Our experienced team aim to develop a high-performance technology platform to enable us to efficiently price, service and allocate capital on behalf of Radix and our investment partners. “
