Everest taps The Hartford executive Ashleigh Sears

Bermuda-based Everest has appointed Ashleigh Sears (pictured) as head of alternative risk and national accounts excess casualty for its North America insurance division.

Based in New York, she will report to Joe Fobert, head of North America retail casualty and industry practices, Everest Insurance.

Sears joins Everest from USQRisk, where she was head of US casualty. She previously held senior roles at Navigators, founding its Boston office and building a New England E&S portfolio. After The Hartford acquired Navigators in 2019, she became northeast division leader for Hartford Excess Solutions. Sears began her career as an underwriter with ACE (now Chubb).

“Ashleigh’s national leadership experience in casualty and alternative risk, combined with her proven ability to shape portfolios and build resilient, high-performing teams, makes her ideally suited for this important role,” said Fobert. “Her strategic vision and acumen will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our market presence and address the evolving needs of our large-account clients.”
