Everest Reinsurance, the reinsurance arm of Bermuda-based Everest Group, has promoted Jiten Voralia (pictured) to chief underwriting officer (CUO) for global reinsurance.
Voralia, who joined the firm in 2022, succeeds Chris Downey, who was recently promoted to EVP and group CUO. Voralia will report to Jill Beggs, EVP and CEO of reinsurance.
Leveraging more than two decades of global industry experience across underwriting, actuarial and portfolio management, Voralia will lead the underwriting strategy for Everest’s global reinsurance operation.
In addition to his new role, Voralia will continue to serve as head of North America treaty reinsurance until his successor is appointed.
With extensive global industry leadership experience, Voralia most recently led the profitable growth of the company’s portfolio across the US, Bermuda and Canada.
Prior to Everest, he held various casualty treaty underwriting and actuarial leaderships positions with Swiss Re in the US, Australia and New Zealand, and Asia Pacific. Before that, he served as an actuary for Benfield in London and Sydney and PwC in London. He holds a master of science in mathematics with first class honours from Imperial College London.
Beggs said: “Jiten is an exceptional leader, with a wealth of experience across the global reinsurance market and a demonstrated record of portfolio optimisation. Jiten has already made significant contributions to Everest, optimising our North America portfolio for profitable growth.
“His technical acumen, strong relationships and proven cross-cycle underwriting expertise make him the ideal leader to guide our underwriting strategy and continue delivering exceptional value to our customers and trading partners over the long-term.”
