Bermuda-based specialty re/insurer Everest has swiped Sompo International EVP Josh Pillion (pictured) to execute its national distribution strategy as US national distribution manager for Everest Insurance— the latest on a long line of senior appointments.
Pillion will focus on engaging key brokers beyond the company’s core global partnerships.
The appointment follows a wave of senior management shifts within the company, beginning with Jim Williamson becoming the new group CEO earlier this year. Since taking on this role, Williamson has initiated a comprehensive overhaul. Yesterday, Everest upped reinsurance COO Jill Beggs to become CEO of reinsurance.
Pillion brings more than 26 years of industry expertise to Everest, spanning leadership roles in underwriting and distribution. He most recently served as EVP and head of global distribution management at Sompo International. Prior to that, he held successive leadership roles at Chubb and AIG.
Based in Los Angeles, Pillion reports to Craig Hanrahan, head of field operations, North America.
Hanrahan said: “Robust broker relationships are the foundation of Everest’s success and a cornerstone of our client-first culture. We continue to invest in top-tier talent that understands the evolving needs of the market and is fully committed to delivering a unique, differentiated experience.
“Josh is a proven leader with a strategic mindset and a keen focus on delivering value to clients and brokers, making him a powerful addition to our team.”
