Conduit unveils Lloyd’s veteran Redmond as NED

Conduit Holdings, the ultimate parent company of Conduit Re, has bolstered its board with the appointment of a new director with Lloyd’s expertise.

Stephen Redmond will join Conduit board as non-executive director.

Redmond currently serves as a non-executive director of Asta Managing Agency where he is a member of the risk, audit, and remuneration committees. He has held the role of managing director of Antares Managing Agency and active underwriter of Antares Syndicate 1274.

Prior to that, Redmond held numerous leadership positions in the London market including at General Accident, Eagle Star, and Württembergische Versicherung, where he was also managing director.

Redmond has been chairman of The Institute of London Underwriters, and of the Joint Hull Committee. During his career, he has been a member of numerous London market committees.

Conduit said the board changes follows its succession plan which saw the departure of its chair of remuneration committee Brian Williamson with Rebecca Shelley joining the role in his place.

Williamson has now stepped down as a non-executive director, following the addition of Shelley and Redmond as non-executive directors. Shelley has replaced Williamson as chair of CHL's Remuneration Committee.

Neil Eckert, executive chairman, said: "I am delighted to welcome Stephen to the CHL board. With the experience he has gained over many years working in the London and global insurance markets, including in senior positions of strategic influence, Stephen is an excellent addition to the board. He enhances our ability to prepare for, and navigate through, the inevitable challenges and opportunities that will come to Conduit Re in the years ahead."

Trevor Carvey, chief executive officer, commented: "I and my executive colleagues look forward to working with Stephen and gaining the benefit of his extensive underwriting experience and his knowledge of global insurance markets as we continue to build on Conduit Re's success and solid foundations."
