Conduit Re names Stephen Postlewhite as CUO

Conduit Re has named Stephen Postlewhite (pictured) as chief underwriting officer and will join the company on January 26, 2026, pending Bermuda immigration approval.

He succeeds Gregory Roberts, who stepped down in April for personal reasons, in the second high-level departure following losses of up to $140 million from the California wildfires. This followed CEO Trevor Carvey’s own exit to return to the UK.

Postlewhite will lead Conduit’s underwriting strategy and oversee portfolio performance across its property, casualty and specialty segments. He will also be responsible for managing Conduit Re’s outwards reinsurance strategy.

He will join Conduit from McGill and Partners, where he has served as partner and head of capital solutions. Before that, he was managing director and global chief underwriting officer at QBE Re. He also spent over 15 years at Aspen, holding a range of senior roles including chief executive officer of both the reinsurance and insurance divisions, group chief risk officer and group chief actuary.

Neil Eckert, who officially succeeded Carvey in May, said: “We are delighted to welcome Stephen to Conduit. His deep technical expertise and proven leadership in strategic underwriting across global reinsurance and insurance markets will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our underwriting capabilities. I look forward to partnering with Stephen as we work to deliver results for our shareholders.”

Postlewhite added: “I am thrilled to accept the role of CUO at Conduit. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented underwriting team and build on the strong foundation they have established. I look forward to applying my experience and collaborating with the executive team to successfully deliver the underwriting strategy in the years ahead.”
