Aspen Insurance Group chair and chief executive officer Mark Cloutier (pictured) has been elected chairman of the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers.
Cloutier succeeds Pina Albo, chief executive officer of Hamilton Insurance, who became the first female chair when she was first elected in 2022.
Cloutier was previously deputy chair of the organisation, which represents Bermuda's international re/insurers to local institutions and international bodies.
Newly appointed Arch Capital CEO Nicolas Papadopoulo and Convex Bermuda CEO Paul Simons were elected as deputy chairs of the organisation, which has 31 companies as members, along with four brokers who make up an advisory cabinet.
ABIR CEO John Huff described Cloutier as "an industry veteran with a proven leadership track record".
Cloutier has been chairman and CEO of Aspen since 2019 and was previously chairman and previously CEO of the Brit Group from 2011.
