Canopius, which has a growing presence in Bermuda, has tapped The Fidelis Partnership for a new head of sustainability.
The re/insurer has hired Olivia Brindle (pictured) in the role. She will be responsible for Canopius’ internal and external sustainability initiatives that are designed to advance the company’s role in promoting environmental and social resilience.
She will report to Lindsay Astor, chief of staff and head of strategy.
“Appointing Olivia to spearhead the next chapter of our sustainability strategy is a statement of intent,” Astor said. “She brings exceptional credentials and is a genuine pioneer in the implementation of sustainability practices in insurance.
“Sustainability has always been a key strategic pillar for Canopius, and I’m delighted to welcome Olivia to the team.”
Brindle added: “I’m delighted to join a company that takes sustainability seriously and is making it a genuine focus across the business. We are at a critical point in the evolution of the field – both as a company and as an industry – and I look forward to helping the team to deliver progress against a constantly evolving backdrop.”
Brindle has over 16 years of industry experience. She was most recently at Bermuda-based The Fidelis Partnership, where she helped build its sustainability function. Prior to that, she spent time at Swiss Re in various roles.
