Aspen taps Lloyd's for comms head

Aspen Insurance has appointed the former chief marketing and communications officer of Lloyd's as its new head of corporate communications. 

Jo Scott was most recently head of Lloyd’s of London Foundation, co-ordinating Lloyd’s charitable and community activities. Before Lloyd’s, she spent ten years at the London Stock Exchange and she is also a Board member for the Business Improvement District the Eastern City of London.

She will report to Mo Kang, Group Chief Corporate Affairs & People Officer. She will be responsible for all corporate communications, including external communications and media relations, digital & social and colleague communications.

Kang said: “I am delighted that Jo will be joining Aspen. Jo brings a wealth of experience in communications and her perspective and insight will be invaluable as look to deepen our brand strength and reputation as a business and as an employer of choice.

“Jo’s impressive CV includes iconic names such as Lloyd’s and London Stock Exchange. Being able to attract talent of this calibre is testament to the strong culture we have built.”

Scott is the second hire Aspen has made from Lloyd's in recent weeks. Peter Spires, formerly Lloyd's general counsel, joined Aspen as group head of compliance & deputy group general counsel at the end of August.
