Ascot names RenRe’s Marc Amen as North America CEO
Ascot Group has appointed RenaissanceRe SVP Marc Amen (pictured) as its new North America CEO, with oversight of its US and Bermuda operations.
The 20-year industry veteran joins the executive committee and will report to group CEO and president Jonathan Zaffino. Ascot said it sees “tremendous opportunity” for profitable growth in both markets.
At RenaissanceRe, Amen oversaw the underwriting and key operational aspects of the company’s US platform. He has 24 years of underwriting and leadership experience, having also held positions at Alterra Re, Harbor Point Re and Chubb Re. He will become Ascot Group North America CEO later this year.
Zaffino said: “There is a tremendous opportunity for continued profitable growth and expansion for Ascot across the US and Bermuda re/insurance markets. Marc brings to us a proven track record of success, leadership, and technical execution skills. In partnership with Matt Kramer and Justin Keith, I have every confidence we will accelerate our ability to capitalise on the opportunities in front of us across our North American businesses.”
