Ascot Group promotes group head of internal audit

Bermuda-based Ascot Group has promoted its senior vice president for internal audit to group head of the function and tasked him with developing an IA model that can grow with the company.

Anthony Mandica, who joined Ascot from Coaction Global in 2022, will lead the re/insurer's Internal Audit function, building upon the current internal audit framework put in place by the company’s existing leadership team, the company said.

Mandica will report to the Ascot Group Audit Committee and to Michael Sevi, Ascot Group general counsel.

“Anthony possesses an extensive knowledge of industry regulatory requirements, a unique understanding of Ascot’s internal controls, and a track record of effectively managing risk,” said Sevi.

“I am so pleased to elevate him to this role, where he is poised to effectively develop an IA model that scales with Ascot’s growth.

"His work in this role will be integral to reinforcing our culture of integrity and to strengthening the internal audit function, Ascot's critical third line of defence.”

Mandica has more than 20 years of experience in internal and external audit roles across financial services and insurance firms. Before Ascot and Coaction, he worked at AIG, Deloitte and accounting firm Hutchins, Farrell, Meyer, & Allison.

He will continue to be based in the company’s Iselin, New Jersey office.
