Arch Insurance has bolstered its cyber underwriting presence in Europe with the hiring of a veteran underwriter from Tokio Marine HCC.
Arch Insurance (EU), a subsidiary of Bermuda-based Arch Capital, said it had appointed Ezechiel Symenouh as a senior cyber underwriter, effective immediately.
Symenouh will be based in Paris and is responsible for developing the company’s European cyber insurance portfolio, with a particular focus on France, Benelux and the Nordic regions.
Arch said Symenouh is highly respected figure in the European cyber market, Symenouh joins AIEU from Tokio Marine HCC where he was most recently a cyber underwriter. Prior to this, he was a cyber risk practice leader at WTW France.
The AIEU cyber division provides standalone and combined cyber and tech solutions, on a primary and excess basis across a wide range of sectors including manufacturing, retail and financial institutions.
Commenting on the announcement, Matthew Brophy, chief underwriting officer, AIEU, said: “Ezechiel’s appointment demonstrates Arch’s commitment to attracting leading industry talent. His deep understanding of European cyber risk, regional expertise and strength of broker relationships makes him a perfect fit for our expanding cyber team.

This follows the recent announcement by Arch Insurance of the appointment of Rachida Laazaouzi as Senior Casualty Underwriter in Paris.
