Antares unifies businesses under single Bermuda holding company

Global re/insurer Antares has consolidated its operations under a single Bermuda-based holding company, QIC Antares Holdings, in a move designed to improve capital efficiency and support the group’s next phase of growth.

The restructure unites all the various Antares companies; including the reinsurance company based in Bermuda, the Lloyd’s syndicate 1274 and the UK insurance company.

As a result, Antares Re has now moved into an aligned holding company structure that sits alongside the syndicate and the UK insurance company.

The structural re-alignment follows the previously announced move by Antares towards delivering a cleaner operating structure for the whole business, focused on commercial, retail and legacy business lines.

Kevin Wenzel, chief financial officer of Antares, commented: “We are pleased to have successfully concluded this internal corporate restructuring activity.

“Whilst there is no impact on day-to-day operations and how we trade with our clients and broker partners, nor for our internal colleagues, the new corporate structure streamlines all our legal entities under a single holding company in Bermuda.  This now allows us to more easily move capital within Antares to support our business growth ambitions and provides a clear single focus for Antares group regulation with the Bermuda Monetary Authority.”
