SiriusPoint appoints ex-Beazley risk chief Andrew Pryde

Bermuda-based global specialty re/insurer SiriusPoint has appointed Andrew Pryde, a seasoned risk leader with Beazley experience to head its global risk management strategy.

Andrew Pryde (pictured) will join as group chief risk officer in September, succeeding Andreas Kull, who will remain until then to ensure a smooth transition.

The firm said Pryde will oversee global risk management from Bermuda, reporting to CEO Scott Egan.

Pryde, with more than 25 years of Bermuda and London insurance experience, will join from Catalina Re where he was group chief risk officer. He previously held senior risk roles, including CRO roles at both Beazley and Darag and chaired boards at BHI Digital and Lodestone Security. Pryde began his career as an actuarial consultant at PwC.

Egan said: “Andrew is a highly accomplished and experienced board level insurance executive with proven experience of implementing strong and valued risk management frameworks. He is a great hire who will add strength and depth as we continue to pursue our ambitions as a business. This appointment will be based in Bermuda, also adding further strength to our Bermuda based team.”

Pryde added: “I am excited to join SiriusPoint. I have watched with interest the new strategy being implemented along with the impressive results achieved to date. I look forward to working alongside the talented team to enhance the company’s risk strategies and help drive continued growth and success in an increasingly complex global market.”

“SiriusPoint would like to thank Andreas for his leadership of the risk team, and significant contribution and dedication during his 3.5 years with the company,” said Egan. “We wish Andreas all the best in his future endeavors.”
