Re/insurance executives join ABIC board
Four top re/insurance executives have joined the board of directors of the Association of Bermuda International Companies.
ABIC, which acts as a voice and trade organisation for all Bermuda international companies, appointed Noel Pearman (pictured right), chief underwriting officer, Bermuda, AXA XL, Paul Simons (pictured left), Bermuda chief executive, Convex Group; Jessica Cardoso (pictured far right), head of office, Markel Bermuda and Colm Singleton (pictured far left), head of Bermuda office, Allied World, to the board from the re/insurance industry.
Also joining are Christian Luthi, chairman of law firm Conyers and Chris Maiato, who is regional consulting leader for the EY region of the Bahamas, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands.
Stepping off the board are Philip Vandoninck, Vanessa Hardy Pickering, Catherine Duffy, Tom Hulst, Christopher Garrod and Robert Moncrieff.
Christian Dunleavy, the new chair of ABIC, said: “On behalf of ABIC’s board, I am pleased to welcome our six newly appointed directors, whose diverse expertise and leadership will help ABIC pursue its mission of ensuring Bermuda is an internationally competitive domicile, where both international companies and the broader community thrive.
“These appointments speak to the deep bench of talent we can draw from in Bermuda’s international business sector.”
Dunleavy added: “I also want to thank the outgoing directors for their contributions.
“And I’m also delighted that one of them, Robert Moncrieff, has agreed to continue serving on the ABIC tax working group, where he has been a hugely valuable source of advice on the corporate income tax to ABIC member companies and the Bermuda Government alike.
“Thanks to all of our directors, who give their time, specialist knowledge and leadership to help Bermuda continue to thrive as a world-class international business centre.”
Continuing to serve on Abic’s board in 2025 are: Dunleavy, past chair Patrick Tannock, vice chairs Douglas Mello, Kirsten Beasley, Allan Pelvang, Michelle Seymour Smith and Tawana Tannock, treasurer Kevin Insley, and directors Philip Barnes, Roy Fellowes, Claude Lefebvre, Sylvia Oliveira, Susan Pateras, Christopher Reeves, Marisa Savage, Laura Taylor, Louise Twiss West, Chantal Cardinez, Dominique Richardson, Travis Trott, LaMel Burch, Robert Foskey, Michael Walsh and John Hele.
