PartnerRe appoints Matthew Doherty head of underwriting insurance programmes

Bermuda-based reinsurer PartnerRe has appointed Matthew Doherty (pictured), currently SVP property underwriter, as head of underwriting insurance programmes to bolster its underwriting team.

Doherty steps into the role seven years into his position at PartnerRe. Based in the Stamford office, New York City Metropolitan area, he holds prior experience from Ascot and WTW.

Joel Livingston, head of insurance programmes, said: “Matt has been an integral part of PartnerRe for seven years, consistently demonstrating strong leadership and technical excellence. I’m excited to see him leverage this expertise to further strengthen out team’s capabilities.”
