XL drives regional US growth with distribution hire

XL’s North America distribution and network team has appointed Michael Kretiv as vice president and client distribution leader, primarily in order to drive business growth in Dallas and its surrounding region.

Based in XL’s Dallas office, Kretiv reports to Wayne Speeg, XL Group’s regional leader – South Central.

According to Ken Riegler, head of XL’s North America distribution and network team,” This region is home to many large, national and multinational corporations representing diverse industries. These companies contend with managing very complex business risks every day. Many recognize the value that XL Group’s underwriting experience and global network brings to their risk management efforts and as a result, we’ve enjoyed tremendous growth here. To meet continued regional demand for our insurance and risk management in the region, we’re pleased to add more resources, recruiting high-calibre industry talent like Michael to help.”

Kretiv joins XL from AIG where he most recently served as regional casualty manager, in addition to his tenure there as senior business development manager. Prior to this, he held various business development, client executive and underwriting positions at Liberty Mutual, Zurich North America, Lockton and Marsh.

Speeg adds: “Michael’s experience as both an underwriter and a broker puts him in a strong position to see and understand our clients’ big risk picture. In his new role with XL, he’ll put that experience to work and collaborate with our brokers and clients to help them find the insurance coverage that meets their needs. With Michael’s help, we’re looking forward to strengthening our business relationships, initiating new ones and continuing to grow in this region.”
