Validus Re appoints EVP, head of treaty

Bermuda-based Validus Re, the reinsurance division of Validus Holdings, has appointment Jorge Beltran as executive vice president (EVP), head of treaty of Validus Reaseguros.

Beltran will manage implementation and execution of Validus Re’s treaty strategy in Latin America in this new role.

Kean Driscoll, chief executive officer of Validus Re, said: “Jorge’s promotion is a reflection of his leadership and experience, as well as his dedication to Validus Re and our clients. His considerable expertise is invaluable in positioning the company for future success as we continue to grow our Latin American reinsurance business.”

Beltran joined Validus Reaseguros in 2007. Prior to that, he held a number of senior positions at various leading companies including Liberty Mutual, SCOR, Swiss Re and Transatlantic.
